Sigillaria Vertebrae
2022
Colored resin, steel
205 x 130 x 100 cm (80.7 x 51.2 x 39.4 inches)

Using the fossilized bark of the sigillaria, a plant species that has been extinct for almost 300 million years, the artist symbolically restores life and color to these plants, which could grow up to 30 meters tall, by associating them with the idea of a spinal column. The lightly stacked modules evoke the possibility of infinite growth, like Brancusi's Endless Column.
